Charlie Crist’s latest flip flop? ObamaCare. Add that to his about faces on oil drilling, teacher tenure and merit pay, Sotomayor and more. He admits he will do & say whatever is politically expedient.
He came out last year in opposition to the Supreme Court nomination of Justice Sonia Sotomayor, but now says that he “probably” took that position because he felt pressure from the GOP primary. Asked if he felt differently now, he said: “Perhaps.”
“I want to do what is in my heart,” Mr. Crist said last week. “But other influences have some effect, to a degree.”
Isn’t that the epitome of a stereotypical, slimeball politician? The kind Hollywood loves to portray? Doing and saying whatever it takes to get a taxpayer-funded job even if it means completely changing your position 180 degrees a couple months down the road?
Not doing things becuase you believe them to be appropriate but because you know them to be expedient. Maneuvering for a taxpayer-paid job by any flip flopping means necessary?
Even if you are a liberal who agrees with his newly-stated liberal flip flops, how can you trust him when he was favoring the exact opposite positions only a handful of weeks ago? How can you trust that his positions won’t completely change — due to either his capriciousness or through the purchase of his vote with pork as was done with the “Louisiana Purchase” and “Cornhusker Kickback” or with lobbyist campaign dollars?
Indeed, isn’t Charlie Crist’s spinelessness a sign that he is the type of politician who, so easily swayed and free of governing principles, would be a prime target to offer his vote to fellow politicians offering the most pork or lobbyists offering the most campaign dollars?
No one can see the future. But we can judge a man by his character.
Don’t forget, he promised campaign donors that their money was going towards electing a candidate who shared their positions only to change course 180 degrees. And the money? When donors asked for their money back, Crist said “no” and laughed about it. Charlie “Take The Money And Run” Crist.
Florida, this dishonorable man should not represent us in Washington.
